Grants and fellowships

Various constituencies within FIP are offering grants and/or fellowships to be able to attend the congress. Please find below an overview.


FIP Foundation Early Career Leadership Development Scholarship

The FIP Foundation, has partnered with the FIP Early Career Pharmaceutical Group (ECPG) and the FIP Regional Pharmaceutical Forums to award six scholarships to assist young pharmacists or pharmaceutical scientists to attend the congress and participate in the Leadership Development Workshop.

  • be pharmacists, pharmacy educators, or pharmaceutical scientists and have graduated within the past 8 years from their first degree in pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences.
  • live and work or study in a country or territory with an income level classified as low, lower-middle or upper middle by the World Bank in the latest available classification. It is not mandatory that applicants are nationals of, or live in, countries or territories where FIP has member organisations.
  • Not have received financial support or a scholarship from the FIP Foundation previously.

The scholarship provides free registration, a reimbursement towards travel and accommodation costs and one-year Individual Membership of FIP.

FIP Academic Pharmacy Section (AcPS)

The FIP Academic Pharmacy Section will offer travel grants to speakers (with a maximum of 4) who have been accepted to present at the Section’s proposed sessions during the congress. To be eligible for a grant, applicants must:

  • Be active members of the AcPS Section.
  • Not have received speaker support from the FIP Congress Programme Development Committee.
  • Provide proof of participation and congress registration.

The maximum grant amount per speaker is € 1,000. Requests for amounts exceeding this limit will require approval from the AcPS Executive Committee.

FIP Health and Medicines Information Section (HaMIS)

The FIP Health and Medicines Information Section offers a travel grant to financially support a pharmacist or pharmacy student living or working in a low or middle income country to attend the FIP World Congress. The grant is provided as a reimbursement towards travel and accommodation costs. The maximum support for one recipient is € 1,000 Euros. In addition to the reimbursement for travel and accommodation, registration costs are covered of up to a maximum of € 400. Preference is given to first-time attendees to the congress.

FIP Industrial Pharmacy Section (IPS)

The FIP Industrial Pharmacy Section promotes the Mike How Travel Award. The award is granted to a young pharmacist or pharmacy student who have shown keen interest and passion for industrial pharmacy. It is a collaboration between the FIPs Early Career Pharmaceutical Group (ECPG), FIP’s Industrial Pharmacy Section, and the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF). It supports ECPG or IPSF members involved in the development, manufacturing and regulatory aspects of pharmaceuticals and includes:

  • Up to € 1,500 to be used in support of transport, accommodation and registration for the congress.
  • Free attendance at the Industrial Pharmacy Section pre-satellite workshop at the FIP congress.
  • Invitation to the Industrial Pharmacy Section dinner.
